I Love My Bath

Tonight I got Matthew bathed and ready for bed. While I was dressing him, I told Andrew to go get in the bathtub and to be sure to close the bathroom doors when he did. I finished with Matthew and went to put the dirty clothes in the washer when I heard Andrew screaming for me. When I got to the bathroom, this is what I found...Andrew forgot to close one of the doors and Matthew snuck in for another bath.

Onery boy! He does love his bath!

I'll Be Back

Sorry...I know it's been forever since I've posted. I promise a new post with pictures in the next few days. Things have been pretty hectic around here and I've been having computer issues. Be back soon!

As promised...

Here are some of my other favorites from the shoot last week. I didn't edit them because my Photoshop is unusable. These are straight out of the camera. Jason got me a new computer, and unfortunately, Photoshop CS2 is not compatible with Windows Vista. I guess I'm going to have to upgrade now (expensive) and I'm peeved because I had just ordered a Photoshop CS2 book from Amazon. Dangit! On a brighter note, Jason got me a Wacom tablet for our anniversary, so when I get Photoshop again, it will be awesome. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Can I have this please?

Will this fit in my garage? I have always wanted a mudroom. It would be handy with a house full of boys. I wouldn't have to constantly be nagging for people to take their shoes, backpacks, etc. to their room and put them up. Are you listening, Jason? I think the one above would fit quite nicely, if I could just get Jason to build it for me. (I can hear him now. "When I get a shop").

Or wouldn't this be nice? To have a laundry/mud room big enough for a built-in like this? Maybe when Jason does get a shop and gets all his stuff moved out of the garage, I can talk him into building me a "pseudo mudroom". Oh, and maybe I'll get the garage organized like Sarah on Clover Lane. That way, I wouldn't have to find a place in the house for the ever-growing pile of boy stuff.

Quotes from Andrew

Yesterday I was working on my new blog header and I had my blog up on the computer. Andrew came upstairs and asked, "What's that?" I told him that was a blog and explained to him that it's a place where you write messages and post pictures so everyone can see them. He mulled that over for a minute and then said, "That's innovation!" Seriously...where does he come up with this stuff?

Jason had to work today and I was searching for something to keep the kids occupied. Matthew kept getting in the drawer where we keep our pens and pencils and was pretending to draw with them, so I decided to get out the crayons and paper and let him and Andrew color together. I'm surprised that Matthew is able to color at this age. He actually did a pretty good job of holding the crayon and scribbling. Maybe he'll be an artist! I just hope that his art doesn't end up on my walls instead of the paper!

This boy...

Tonight I was getting Andrew ready for bed and I looked at him, with his knobby little knees and scrawny legs, standing there in his Spiderman underwear, and I thought, I want to remember this. He's growing up so fast. I want to remember this five year old boy how he is right now.

I want to remember this boy, who doesn't leave his bedroom in the morning without his baseball blanket and who asks me to put it under the comforter every night when I "snuggle him in."

This boy who takes Clifford everywhere and though he's a "five year old big boy" still sleeps with him every night because if he didn't, "Clifford would get scared without him."

This boy who comes to find me to tell me what the word for bowling is in Spanish because he learned it from Handy Manny.

This boy who memorizes all the words to songs on the radio and sings along with them on the way to school at the top of his lungs and makes me smile and who, if he hasn't memorized the whole thing, sings the one little part of a song that he knows over and over again while riding his bike.

This boy who is too embarassed to kiss me goodbye at school in front of his friends but who is the one who always wants to sit in the chair with me at home and who comes into the room for no reason but to tell me he loves me.

This boy who finishes his dinner and shows me that he made a "happy plate" and immediately asks for dessert.

This boy who loves Batman and who has worn his Batman Halloween costume so much that it is tattered and has holes in it.

This boy who is so quick witted and cracks me up all the time and who is so smart that sometimes I wonder where he comes up with this stuff.

This boy who is so sweet and soft hearted, who is so good to his brother (even if he does aggravate him sometimes), who is so kind and respectful and well-mannered that people compliment him all the time about what a good kid he is.

This boy who is such a joy to me and who I am so proud of. I can only imagine the type of man this wonderful boy will be someday.

I love this boy.

Recent Faves...

Just wanted to share a couple of recent favorites...The black and white of Andrew was my picture for my photography class last week.

It's about time...

I decided to join the modern world and start a blog. I have thought about doing this for some time, now, but haven't ever gotten around to it. I figured that now that we live a little farther from some of our family, this would be a good way to keep everyone updated on what's going on in our lives. Plus, maybe it will help me remember all the hilarious things the kids are always doing! Hope you'll stop in every once in a while!
